About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Assistant Program Director (APD) to support the delivery of high-quality vocational rehabilitation services under our ACCES-VR contract. This role ensures smooth day-to-day program operations, accurate documentation, and effective coordination between staff, internal systems, and ACCES-VR partners. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and committed to supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving their employment goals. This position offers opportunities for professional growth, including the potential to supervise and mentor staff. $750 sign on bonus may apply

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of ACCES-VR service delivery and the vocational rehabilitation process preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming ACCES-VR referrals for eligibility, completeness, and required documentation prior to intake.
  • Ensure timely acceptance and accurate data entry of approved referrals; maintain ongoing communication with ACCES-VR Counselors.
  • Monitor VR forms, case notes, milestone documentation, and reporting deadlines for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide training, guidance, and technical assistance to staff on ACCES-VR documentation and billing systems.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Service Director and/or Director of Employment Services to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Support job placement, job retention, and supported employment activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
