About The Position

The Assistant Quality Manager ensures that products and processes meet the standard requirements by developing, implementing, and maintaining quality operating procedures, thereby creating a robust quality system. The Assistant Quality Manager will focus on inspecting parts during the manufacturing process, analyzing and troubleshooting issues, with an emphasis on Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions, to improve product quality, safety, and reliability throughout the process.

Requirements

  • Familiar with the Aerospace Fasteners industry
  • Knowledge of AS9100D, ISO/IEC 17025, Nadcap Checklists AC7101/1, AS9102
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance methods and tools, such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagram, and more
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (Master’s degree beneficial for job growth)
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving, quality tools, and decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge in material science
  • Strong math skills
  • Defect management processes
  • Professional certification, such as Six Sigma, CQE (certified qualified engineer)
  • Computer proficiency, including database management
  • Ability to work under stressful situations
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience in a quality capacity, preferably in the fasteners aerospace industry

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the MRB meetings (Material Review Board)
  • Develop and/or update company documented processes and SOPs and Work Instructions to ensure production processes produce high-quality results
  • Support the Quality Manager on audits, self-assessments
  • Investigate reported quality issues from both internal and external sources through a full root cause analysis, and follow up on the closure with the disposition of corrective actions by the MRB team
  • Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Action Implementation
  • Develop or update company complaint logs and inspection procedures to ensure proper investigation and documentation
  • Provide training and support to necessary personnel, focusing on systems, policies, procedures, core processes, and best practices
  • Analyzing the monthly COPQ (cost of poor quality) results with key actions and support to drive continuous improvement
  • Responsible for reporting REACH, ROHS, or any other international regulations
