About The Position

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking an Assistant Radiologic Technologist to join our imaging team at Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, MN! This is a casual position that will work as needed by the department. Typical open shifts include weekday evening and weekend coverage, but may vary. The Technologist assistant position provides services to patients and technologists through the assistance to create diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient. Responsible for meeting the established standards of patient care and productively with all the members of the health care team.

Requirements

  • 1 year experience as a Nursing Assistant or Assistant Rad Tech six months into a Radiologic Technology Program
  • Current or Previous Nursing Assistant or Student of Radiologic Technology or experience as an Assistant Rad Tech

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in Hospital Imaging Department in MRI.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains patient care
  • Identifies relevant data from images accurately.
  • Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional.
  • Participates in creating a culture of patient safety.
  • Confirms patient identification, escorts/transports patients as needed/directed, and introduces co-works and hospital staff to patient.
  • Answers questions/concerns, communicates needed instructions, and delays in patient scheduling and responds promptly to patient concerns.
  • Accurately completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, billing, status changes, and file jacket transfers in a timely fashion.
  • Accurate film identification and jacket preparation.
  • Organizes exams for radiologist interpretation.
  • Participates as an active team member.
  • Orients and mentors’ new employees and students.
  • Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position.
  • Cleans and maintains rooms and supplies.
  • Accepts unique customer service expectations in Imaging.
  • Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines.
  • Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is in working order according to Department guidelines.
  • Demonstrates proper technique in operating and maintaining all necessary equipment; Information Systems, phone systems, FAX machines, copy machines, digitizers, etc.
  • Accepts new technology as it is introduced into the facility.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served.
  • Modifies clinical interventions based on population served.
  • Provides patient education based on an assessment of learning needs of patient/caregiver.
