The Assistant Research Scientist, under general supervision, conducts independent research within their area of expertise. This role applies techniques and methodologies developed through education and professional experience to address research questions associated with assigned projects. The Assistant Research Scientist contributes to the preparation of research papers, articles, and publications; supports routine laboratory operations, including workspace preparation and cleaning; and collaborates with faculty and other researchers as needed. Conducts independent research on C. difficile sporulation, germination, and host colonization, applying advanced scientific knowledge and expertise to execute research projects within their field. Analyzes experimental data and documents results accurately in laboratory notebooks. Contributes to scientific manuscripts, grant applications, technical progress reports, and presentation materials for dissemination at national and international meetings. Supports routine laboratory operations, including workspace preparation, cleaning, and other assigned research activities. Provides guidance and assistance to student researchers, postdoctoral associates, and graduate students contributing to related research projects.
