About The Position

Responsible for providing flexible support across multiple classrooms, ensuring safe, nurturing environments by covering team member absences, team member breaks, maintaining required child-to-teacher ratios, and assisting with daily activities. Assistant Teacher I Floaters are expected to fulfill the responsibilities of a permanent classroom teacher. This position schedule is 9 a.m.–6 p.m.; however, hours may change based on department needs.

Requirements

0 – 1 years of related work experience.
Ability to provide a safe environment
Ability to build positive relationships
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate effectively with team members,, volunteers, and community groups.
High school diploma or the equivalent (GED)
CDA Credential course/certificate
CPR/First-Aid/AED certificate (active), preferred

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English/Spanish, preferred.
CPR/First-Aid/AED certificate (active), preferred

Responsibilities

Ensure continuous supervision of children in indoor/outdoor environments, adhering to licensing regulations and active supervision plans/strategies
Foster positive relationships with parents/families, children, and team members
Observe children's activities and independent play and base interactions on observed (documented) needs and developmental abilities
Communicates effectively with parents/families as well as proper colleagues and school leadership team.
Assists in the implementation and coordination of classroom activities and routines.
Actively engage with children; support meal times and care routines (diapering/toilet learning)
Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to supporting different classroom routines and age groups quickly
Provide flexible support to all classrooms, whether temporary or long-term; including teachers breaks, absences, other necessary ratios supports.
Attend at least 12 Martha’s Table anchor events annually
Performs other duties as assigned
