About The Position

Responsible for providing flexible support across multiple classrooms, ensuring safe, nurturing environments by covering team member absences, team member breaks, maintaining required child-to-teacher ratios, and assisting with daily activities. Assistant Teacher I Floaters are expected to fulfill the responsibilities of a permanent classroom teacher. This position schedule is 9 a.m.–6 p.m.; however, hours may change based on department needs.

Requirements

  • 0 – 1 years of related work experience.
  • Ability to provide a safe environment
  • Ability to build positive relationships
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate effectively with team members,, volunteers, and community groups.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent (GED)
  • CDA Credential course/certificate
  • CPR/First-Aid/AED certificate (active), preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish, preferred.
  • CPR/First-Aid/AED certificate (active), preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuous supervision of children in indoor/outdoor environments, adhering to licensing regulations and active supervision plans/strategies
  • Foster positive relationships with parents/families, children, and team members
  • Observe children's activities and independent play and base interactions on observed (documented) needs and developmental abilities
  • Communicates effectively with parents/families as well as proper colleagues and school leadership team.
  • Assists in the implementation and coordination of classroom activities and routines.
  • Actively engage with children; support meal times and care routines (diapering/toilet learning)
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to supporting different classroom routines and age groups quickly
  • Provide flexible support to all classrooms, whether temporary or long-term; including teachers breaks, absences, other necessary ratios supports.
  • Attend at least 12 Martha’s Table anchor events annually
  • Performs other duties as assigned
