About The Position

The Associate Development Officer, Special Events & Campaigns serves as a key member of the Development team, driving statewide fundraising efforts for Easterseals Massachusetts, focused around our campuses in Boston, Bridgewater, and Worcester. This role leads the planning and execution of Signature Events, special fundraisers, and annual campaigns that fuel organizational growth. The Associate Development Officer will manage all aspects of assigned projects, including strategic event design, multi-channel logistics, adherence to budget, and committee coordination to ensure mission-aligned success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, communications, marketing, or related field; offering a strong theoretical and practical base for development work. Equivalent experience or a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 2 years or more of successful event planning and diverse fundraising roles in a non-profit setting.
  • Strong mathematics, reading comprehension, and reasoning skills to manage budgets and execute complex project functions.
  • Proficiency with Sales Force, Raisers Edge, or other comprehensive fundraising and donor management software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Flexibility in work hours, including occasional evening and weekends as required for peak event seasons and campaign deadlines.
  • Occasional in-state travel to miscellaneous venues must have reliable transportation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to exercise strong organizational and time-management skills to manage competing priorities and meet rigorous deadlines effectively.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven professional with a consistent willingness to take initiative on new projects.
  • Work effectively as an individual contributor while actively fostering a collaborative, mission-driven team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of signature events, such as capital campaign gatherings, donor appreciation receptions, and community engagement events.
  • Collaborate with the Development team and event committees to define creative themes, strategic goals, and create budget plans that align with organizational priorities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans for each event, create annual event calendars, and multi-channel fundraising campaign schedules.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to produce cohesive digital and print materials, ensuring brand-consistent messaging across all social media and event promotions.
  • Support sponsor outreach and benefit fulfillment while actively driving ticket sales and securing in-kind donations.
  • Serve as the primary lead for events and manage all event logistics.
  • Track event expenses, process invoices, and reconcile all costs within Raiser’s Edge to maintain budget oversight.
  • Lead the planning and execution of high-impact revenue-generating campaigns, such as Giving Days/Week of Giving/Friends of the Barn to achieve annual fundraising targets.
  • Design and manage post-event stewardship plans that transition one-time participants into recurring donors to increase event-to-donor conversion rates.
  • Utilize Raiser’s Edge to generate predictive reports, identifying key donor trends and segments with high potential for increased giving and event participation.
  • Attend monthly Regional Board meetings and assist the Development Coordinator in facilitating fundraising sub-committee activities.
  • Coordinate facility tours, informational sessions, and cultivation events across various campuses to enhance donor engagement.
  • Record donor interactions and engagement history accurately within Raiser’s Edge to ensure seamless stewardship transitions.
  • Responsible for general administrative responsibilities, including the organization of storage areas, office supplies, and event-specific inventory.
  • Partner regularly with program teams to foster a donor-centered culture and maintain a solutions-focused, collaborative work environment.
