About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled, team-oriented Associate Attorney to join our Elder Law and Trusts & Estates Practice Group in our Greenwich, CT office. This role is ideal for a mid- to senior-level attorney who will work closely with clients on sophisticated estate settlements in Connecticut and New York, as well as complex estate planning matters, including revocable and irrevocable trusts. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in estate planning and estate/trust administration. Exposure to probate litigation is a plus, though not required. You will provide strategic, compassionate guidance to clients navigating some of life’s most important financial and legal decisions while collaborating closely with senior attorneys. Note: Experience drafting LLC operating agreements or shareholder agreements is a plus but is not required. Where applicable, collaboration with commercial or tax attorneys is expected.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; LLM preferred.
  • Admitted to the Connecticut and New York State Bars and in good standing.
  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in trusts & estates and estate planning.
  • Familiarity with federal and state tax laws, estate tax principles, and trust administration procedures is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work from the Greenwich, CT office, with the ability to spend time in the Roseland, NJ office as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Probate litigation experience is a plus.
  • Experience drafting LLC operating agreements or shareholder agreements is a plus but is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and implement comprehensive estate plans, including wills and revocable and irrevocable trusts.
  • Support estate and trust administration, including preparing accountings and assisting with estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns.
  • Assist with probate and estate-related litigation matters, including contested wills and fiduciary disputes, as needed.
  • Research and advise on tax impacts and asset preservation strategies, with guidance from senior attorneys.
  • Participate in client negotiations and court proceedings alongside senior attorneys.
  • Maintain accurate case records, meet billable hour targets, and collaborate effectively with paralegals and support staff.
  • Contribute to practice group initiatives and foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture.

  • Base Salary: $150,000–$200,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Final salary reflects your skills, experience, and contributions.
