About The Position

We are currently looking for an associate with 2+ years of Commercial Litigation experience to join our Houston office. Associates with federal clerkship experience are encouraged to apply. We are seeking an associate who is experienced with discovery, brief-writing, and supervising junior associates on legal research and document review; who is willing to be challenged in a positive work environment where senior associates and partners take their roles as mentors seriously. Requirements

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree (LLM or foreign equivalent) from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to the Texas bar (or the ability to become admitted) and in good standing
  • 2+ years of Commercial Litigation/law firm experience, with a focus on civil litigation
  • Strong academic record and intellectual curiosity, creative thinker

  • Strong time management skills, ability to stay calm under pressure when juggling multiple projects

Responsibilities

  • Help develop litigation strategy for matters ranging from complex commercial litigation, business-tort litigation, internal corporate investigations, corporate governance matters, arbitration-related litigation and arbitration-enforcement litigation
  • Advise clients, including multinational companies, public and private companies, funds, firms, partnerships and individuals in all types of litigation across a broad variety of industries
  • Draft briefs, memoranda, correspondence, examination outlines, and other documents for matters
  • Conduct legal research
  • Participate in and conduct witness interviews, client meetings, and negotiations
  • Analyze evidence to develop facts and strategy
  • Communicate with clients (via telephone, E-mail and in-person)
  • Provide direct assistance to partners and senior lawyers on matters arising in the course of day-to-day provision of legal services to leading clients
