About The Position

The role involves researching and analyzing securities and complex commercial litigation matters, drafting a full range of pleadings and motion papers, and managing discovery and trial preparation. It also includes participating in depositions, hearings, and settlement discussions while maintaining ongoing client communication and strategic case development with senior attorneys.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in New York; admission in New Jersey is a plus.
  • 4 - 8 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting; specifically securities and complex commercial litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence rules, and experience in both state and federal courts.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting legal research and analysis on various litigation matters (specifically securities and complex commercial litigation) using tools such as Westlaw.
  • Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, briefs, legal correspondence, discovery requests, discovery responses and other legal documents.
  • Participating in depositions, court conferences and hearings, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Developing and implementing case strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys.
  • Reviewing and interpreting applicable laws, rulings, and regulations.
  • Managing all aspects of the discovery process, including document production, interrogatories, and exhibit organization.
  • Assisting with trial preparation, including witness preparation and case file management.
  • Maintaining client communications, provide legal advice, and offer regular updates on case progress.
  • Conducting interviews with clients and witnesses.
  • Attendingclient meetings and negotiate settlements when appropriate.
  • Other duties, projects and assignments as required.
