SIGNING BONUS $2500.00 The Associate Controls & Automation Engineer will be responsible for supporting engineering projects for plant processes. You will assist in managing equipment system processing, training, quality controls, and effectiveness. You will collaborate with plant management in assessing equipment needs for prospective manufacturing needs. Additionally, you will support FSQA initiatives and maintenance for the plant environment. A Day in the Life... Works toward identifying, evaluating, and selecting process controls hardware and software for controls related projects necessary to meet current/future manufacturing requirements. Assists in managing the controls and automation interface, testing, quality control, data retrieval, and training for all packaging and processing equipment. Develop and modify PLC & HMI programs. Provides controls support for the manufacturing facility and assist plant mechanics in troubleshooting. Provides project engineering and project management support to all process areas of the beverage plant facilities to improve rates, efficiencies, and reduce costs. Develop and maintain electrical, controls and process drawings. Support the implementation of facility control system standardization and process improvement tasks. Ensure documentation for control/electrical system and document change control procedures. In conjunction with the Engineering Manager, identify, evaluate and select process controls hardware and software necessary to meet current and future manufacturing requirements. Assist with the development and management of controls related capital projects. Determine the maintainability of new process control systems and manage process controls change control procedures for existing equipment. Maintain an up-to-date awareness of Federal, State, and Local engineering codes and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology preferred, or 10 years of related experience without an advanced degree
  • 3+ years’ providing controls engineering manufacturing and project support. Food and beverage or pharmaceutical experience a plus
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and program PLCs, VFDs, HMIs and Vision Systems
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Ethernet, Remote I/O and DeviceNet communication networks
  • Read electrical schematics and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s)
  • Perform Electrical Troubleshooting techniques.
  • Possess general knowledge of the National Electrical Code, a plus
  • Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, MS Project, MS Office)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capable of working on multiple projects and prioritizing workload
  • Able to work cross-functionally in team environment and at various organizational levels

Nice To Haves

  • Food and beverage or pharmaceutical experience a plus
  • Possess general knowledge of the National Electrical Code, a plus
