Job Title: Associate Design Engineer Reporting To: Supervisor, Drafting (MSD) Work Schedule: Onsite – Buffalo, NY Moog is the world-wide leader of advanced flight controls and actuation for commercial and military aircraft. Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering and prior relevant experience OR Associates degree in Engineering or Design related major and 4 years of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of engineering principles, documentation standards, and drafting practices
- Experience communicating with the technical community including customers and vendors
- Experience and in-depth knowledge with mechanical CAD (MCAD) tools is REQUIRED.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Siemens NX MCAD design software and Teamcenter PLM is preferred
- Experience in the Aerospace industry preferred
Responsibilities
- Understanding and translating project requirements emanating from a variety of sources, creating computer models, layouts, detailed engineering drawings.
- Contributing to a cost-effective design and functional products by working closely with Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering.
- Creating and checking detail drawings for completeness and accuracy, ensures the Bill of Material (Parts List) for product design is accurate and complete.
- In conjunction with Engineering, ensures basic integrity of designs and layouts using correctness of proportionality, sizing, dimensional accuracy, tolerance limits, and conforming to Moog’s use of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) application practices.
- Suggesting or specifying materials to conform to design requirements and assist in the selection of acceptable processing procedures.
