Job Description: Digital Marketing Manager
Position Overview
As the Digital Marketing Manager, your work will accelerate our sophisticated global membership marketing strategy, pioneering the use of software tools and approaches that are years ahead of most other organizations. In the past ten years our membership has nearly doubled, primarily thanks to international growth. And your role is essential to our continued growth.
This position is an outstanding springboard for your career. You will work independently but have support and guidance from the Senior Director of Membership Operations. You will also work closely with our marketing, communications, and IT teams.
In this role you will:
+ Assist the Senior Director of Membership Operations and other colleagues to help develop, plan, and execute a global membership campaign using direct mail, email, social media, lead generation, face-to-face contact, and other engagement strategies.
+ Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and engagement metrics across platforms. Utilize Hubspot, Google Analytics (and other tools) to monitor and report on results of campaigns. Monitor goals, funnels, and conversion tracking based on organizational objectives.
+ Use data-backed analysis to respond quickly to trends and maximize marketing return (including suggesting, creating, and executing A/B tests and other improvement ideas).
+ Stay current with new advances and changes in marketing, analytics, and the competitive landscape. Identify key digital trends and recommend how ACC could leverage them to achieve its objectives.
Organizational Overview
Outside of the U.S., the role of in-house counsel has not always been part of the corporate business model. However, in both Canada and Europe, the role is increasingly viewed as essential, requiring both deep business acumen and a broad scope of legal knowledge.
Located in Washington, D.C. and working with 40,000 members in 85 countries, the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) is a fast-growing global bar association that promotes the professional and business interests of in-house counsel who work for corporations, associations, and private sector organizations.
ACC anticipates and understands the needs of the in-house bar; delivers relevant, timely services and information; helps members efficiently deliver services to their corporate clients; promotes the value of in-house services; and influences the practice of law through education, networking opportunities, and advocacy.
Additional Responsibilities as Digital Marketing Manager
+ Work in collaboration with Marketing and Communications team to produce effective membership materials/communications that appeal to prospective members. This includes collaborating with staff across ACC to leverage programs and activities, and keeping updated on happenings to ensure content is fresh and relevant.
+ Evaluate our list of prospects (about 40,000 names) to determine data accuracy and freshness. Use information gleaned from analysis to recommend ideas for new prospect lead generation.
+ Maintain data on the in-house counsel market in key areas. Work with the Senior Director of Membership Operations and IT to implement a process for ensuring prospect lists are regularly updated and contain key demographic information. Ensure processes and systems are updated to track such things as renewals and workflows, etc.
+ Work with the Senior Director of Membership Operations and IT to set up a system for coding and tracking all campaigns and prospects; identify ways to provide specific resources to various segments and report on results of campaigns.
+ Work with chapter staff to organize membership efforts among ACC chapters, including developing projects and initiatives to increase chapter recruitment.
Qualifications of the Digital Marketing Manager
+ Bachelorâs degree in marketing, communications, sales, business administration, or a related field.
+ 3 or more years of work experience in a marketing capacity, ideally in a professional association environment. Product marketing experience is a plus.
+ Experience executing and managing campaigns and measuring campaign success. Proven use of online analytics and member data in order to interpret results, identify campaign opportunities, and drive membership marketing decisions.
+ Excellent communication skills. Experience writing copy for members is preferred.
+ Database experience, ideally with NetForum and/or HubSpot.
