Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is looking for a full-time associate director to help establish BUMCP as the premier academic cardiovascular center in Arizona - known for excellent outcomes, innovative research, seamless access, and a strong culture of teamwork "One Team". We have many new providers joining our program with an exciting program growth trajectory. In this role you will provide clinical leadership, and financial and personnel management for the Non-Invasive Cardiology Services and Cardiac Rehab to include, leading staff, growth of the specialties, managing schedules, productivity ratios, and financial and personnel management for the Non-Invasive Cardiology and Cardiac Rehab department (Echo, EKG, & the Cardiac Procedure Unit where they do TEEs, cardioversions, stresses, tilt table tests, loops, and CPET). There are 37 direct reports (Cardiac Sonographers, EKG Techs, RNs, Exercise Physiologists, PCA's). POSITION SUMMARY This position provides clinical leadership, and financial and personnel management for the Non-Invasive departments in Cardiac Services. Supervises employees, and participates in selection, orientation, counseling and evaluation of staff. Additionally, participates in quality improvement processes and monitors patient outcomes in the departments.

Requirements

  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE - bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5-years of recent hospital experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, RDCS or RCS, along with previous leadership experience.
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in related Health Care field or equivalent experience.
  • Certification for BLS is required.
  • Five years recent cardiac/pulmonary rehab and/or Non-Invasive CardioVascular Testing experience in a hospital setting required or a reasonable combination of education and experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective communication and working relationships with staff, physician, patients and their families.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s or RN with Bachelor’s degree.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting where diagnosis and interventional procedures performed.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides and/or facilitates patient flow for the departments and serves as a resource to employees for clinical and managerial support; assumes responsibility for direct patient care as necessary.
  • Leads change by developing, implementing and evaluating quality and process improvement initiatives of the department in conjunction with the director. Seeks and utilizes input from staff and physicians and oversees change implementation. Ensures compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Facilitates communication of system, regional, facility and department initiatives.
  • Manages and develops the operational and capital budgets and use of associated resources.
  • Assures the development of staff leadership through the design of effective shared leadership models and supports career advancement opportunities. Functions as a role model and encourages staff to participate in their own development.
  • Serves as a resource to patients, families, physicians and staff in facilitating medical and nursing care through the utilization of appropriate resources. Assists in interpreting applicable policies and regulatory guidelines in the clinical settings. Mentors staff to increase clinical and critical thinking and problem solving skills. Includes responsibility for providing safe and cost effective care and attention to patient satisfaction and customer service.
  • This position functions as a leader, resource and mentor, ensuring patient care and operations are efficient, accurate and uninterrupted for the assigned departments. This position has freedom to determine how best to accomplish functions within established procedures. Contacts include facility staff, patients and their families, physicians and their office staff, regulatory agencies and various community personnel.
