About The Position

The Electrical Subject Matter Expert under Global Capital Project Solutions (GCPS) supports the implementation of the Global Product Development & Supply (GPS) capital plan, provides technical support to the GPS network, and coordinates knowledge sharing and lessons learned throughout the network. This individual will drive technical influence into meaningful direction to Engineering & Facilities, Manufacturing, Research, Development, Finance, Quality and EHS teams across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in Electrical Design.
  • 5 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Electrical Systems design.
  • Expertise in power generation, power distribution, high/medium/low voltage design.
  • Expertise in Auxiliary systems design.
  • Expertise in Data Centers and Telecommunication Rooms design.
  • Expertise in Lighting Systems design.
  • Experience in sustainability technologies for electrical systems.
  • Comprehension of industry electrical standards and local codes.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Strong background and understanding in the planning and execution of capital projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, organized and able to prioritize tasks to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes role as Global Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Oversee electrical and auxiliary systems design for major capital projects through partnership with Engineering firms.
  • Support the construction and commissioning of electrical and auxiliary systems though partnership with Construction Management firms.
  • First line of communication with sites for electrical support.
  • Influence Engineering and Construction firms through Stage Gate stages.
  • Provides Peer Review for key project designs.
  • Support internal and external regulatory audit findings.
  • Works with local utilities and BMS project development for new services or major changes to existing services.
  • Drives and Leads network learning, and best practice sharing.
  • Drives Standardization through Engineering Design Standards.
  • Leads Electrical Community of Practice (CoP).
  • Utilizes communication and influence skills and leads by example.
  • Partners with Pharma, Biologics, Cell Therapy, Product Development, and Research Business Units to establish both short and long-term (1 to 5 years) implementation plans that will align the sites with the Network Strategies.
  • Works within GTS, Sites and GPS Leadership to help define master planning needs.
  • Establishes Conceptual Plans for projects aligned to business strategies and project goals
