RRD is dedicated to fostering a dynamic work environment that promotes professional growth and a significant impact on patients' lives.Reporting StructureReports To: Sr. Director, US Patient and Payer AccessDirect Reports: Field Reimbursement Managers across the USAreas Managed: Field ReimbursementOverviewThe Associate Director, Field Reimbursement leads the national Field Reimbursement function and is accountable for developing and executing the strategic direction and performance of the Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) team. This role provides functional leadership and training across a complex and rapidly evolving reimbursement landscape, ensuring exceptional, compliant access education for healthcare providers and staff. The Associate Director drives long-term capability building, national process standards, and cross-functional alignment to enhance patient access and optimize operational excellence.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree required. MA/MS in Life Sciences preferred.
  • Minimum of 9 years of Pharmaceutical/biotech experience in a similar role preferred
  • Minimum of 4+ years of management experience
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with ability to lead a small team of highly experienced professionals.
  • Deep understanding of specialty pharmacy networks and reimbursement/access dynamics.
  • Strong collaboration skills with proven success working across functions in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to represent market access perspective internally and externally.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with ability to balance strategic and hands-on responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to the national FRM team
  • Coach and develop team members
  • Ensure the function has the capabilities required for long term success

  • Develops and conducts training for FRM team for company meetings and on an ongoing basis
  • Develop and own the national Field Reimbursement strategy, execution, and performance expectations
  • Design scalable, compliant processes and operating frameworks to ensure consistent, high-quality support across all regions
  • Ensure the Field Reimbursement team delivers consistent, high quality, compliant access and reimbursement support to HCPs and office staff, as appropriate
  • Establish best practices and standard operating procedures to strengthen internal and external customer knowledge of payer policy and processes
  • Serve as the senior functional expert for Field Reimbursement
  • Act as the primary liaison between FRMs and internal stakeholders, including Commercial, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Compliance
  • Influence organizational strategy through actionable insights
  • Provide insight and recommendations to Market Access and Payer Strategy leadership on emerging payer trends
  • Collaborate with leadership to design and execute the strategic vision for a high impact Field Reimbursement team that advances patient access and operational excellence
  • Represent market access perspectives in internal forums to strengthen strategy and execution
  • Monitor performance across regions and implement continuous improvement actions
  • Lead functional budgeting, resource allocation, investment decisions, and material development
  • Develop and implement team goals, objectives, and metrics aligned with broader business priorities
  • Manage team operations, including territory alignment and technology enhancements
  • Maintain oversight of program documentation, data integrity, and reporting for leadership and compliance purposes.
  • Ensure all FRM activities adhere to company policies, industry standards, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to proactively identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure proper training
  • Oversee and reinforce strict adherence to pharmacovigilance and adverse event reporting obligations
  • Lead or support special projects related to market access and support services.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the mission of the organization.
