About The Position

Under the general guidance of the Chief Human Resource Officer, the Associate Director of Human Resources will serve on the HR leadership team, and aide in developing, maintaining, and enhancing Human Resource Management’s programs across the LSUHSC -NO campus. This position is responsible for overseeing talent development, talent acquisition and human resource operations. Responsibilities include Performance Management programs, New Employee Orientation, succession planning, employee engagement events, learning experiences, leadership communications and HR campus liaison activities. The position also oversees Talent Acquisition, ensuring that the right talent is attracted to our campus. This position oversees all activities, processes, procedures, policies and events that surround overall talent acquisition on our campus to include, but not be limited to, recruitment events, job postings, interviewing and assistance with candidate selection. The position also manages the day-to-day personnel operations, i.e. directing and overseeing all PeopleSoft operations and data entry for personnel (talent) actions/changes, new hire packet entry, and other operational functions of the university. This position develops internal and external metrics to evaluate the value of operational services provided, supports internal and external audits, and ensures timely resolution of nightly maintenance issues. The position will have a high degree of stakeholder interaction, relationship development with all levels of leadership from schools/divisions, and work closely with all HR internal units, VCAF departments, and Louisiana State Civil Service. This position lead a team by hiring and training assigned staff; identifies and resolves performance issues; provides appropriate leadership and direction and promotes positive morale, creativity and teamwork among staff; evaluates employee performance and sets clear goals and expectations.
