About The Position

The Research Department at Alnylam is seeking discovery biology scientist for leading the charge of delivery solutions in priority tissues/cell types with compelling therapeutic targets. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of biological sciences with expertise in one of the key tissue/cell types. The focus will be on solving delivery for therapeutic targets of interest that advance as programs in clinical development. The candidate will have a unique opportunity to work on therapeutic targets from discovery and enable them into development. The individual will need excellent collaboration and communication skills, connecting interdisciplinary team members from medicinal chemistry, core delivery technology group and targets team. Expertise in oligonucleotide conjugate delivery is essential. Experience in the field of antibodies and antibody drug conjugates is a plus.

Requirements

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in biopharma setting
• Expertise in tissues/cell biology with expertise in at least one specific area
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) are essential

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the field of nucleic acids or antibody drug conjugates will be a plus
• Strong track record of building, mentoring and leading interdisciplinary, collaborative teams
• Expertise in oligonucleotide conjugate delivery is essential.
• Experience in the field of antibodies and antibody drug conjugates is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams working on delivery of RNAi therapeutics in priority tissues/cell types with compelling therapeutic targets of interest.
• Mentor high-performing teams with goal of best-in-class delivery solutions allowing subcutaneous dosing (preferably), effective dose of 1 mg/kg or less, wide therapeutic index and clear path for CMC
• Identify and establish external collaborations to fast-track internal efforts
• Transparently communicate results with key stakeholders to execute on portfolio and business strategy.
