What we are looking for: We are looking for a learning leader. Someone who deeply understands the impact they have and can demonstrate that leadership working in a dynamic, fast paced business unit, while leading a large team. The creation, communication, and execution of the US Cardiovascular Strategic Learning Plan across our brands is a key deliverable. The Associate Director will also be responsible for hiring, developing, and leading a best-in-class training team and demonstrating excellence in cross-matrix communication and partnerships. Who you will work with: The Associate Director, US Cardiovascular Commercialization Learning is a headquarters position and reports into the Director of US CV Commercialization Learning and will work collaboratively across a fast-paced and complex matrix organization, which includes the Cardiovascular Commercialization Teams, WW Centre of Excellence, and Enterprise Learning Services to ensure that we deliver on our objective of demonstrating value to our customers. The Associate Director also works with external partners to understand industry trends, benchmark performance, and gather insights on the external environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Master’s or Doctorate degree preferred
  • 3-7 years of experience delivering learning in biopharmaceutical industry or another highly regulated environment required
  • Cardiovascular experience a plus, particularly in heart arrhythmias or structural heart
  • Proven track record of building, inspiring and leading teams to meet or exceed objectives is essential
  • Successful strategy development and implementation in a complex environment
  • Deep knowledge in the areas of learning operations and governance, change management, and leading practices in learning & development
  • Proven experience with modern learning methodologies and delivery processes including digital, and capability development program design and implementation
  • Demonstrated strategic, forward-thinking, agile, enterprise mindset
  • Customer-service mindset and skilled in consulting and influencing across a complex, diverse, global, matrix organization
  • Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication skills including, ability to understand and communicate business needs and ability to effectively communicate to and with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated corporate maturity
  • Well organized and capable of managing multiple, diverse stakeholders, priorities, and programs in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to prioritize business needs and make timely decisions based on available data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power Point, Excel, Word and AI applications (ChatGPT/MS Co-Pilot)
  • Ability to travel ~20% for multiple meeting engagements (e.g., Managers Meetings, National Plan of Action Meetings, various Training Initiatives, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Hire, build and lead a high-performing US Cardiovascular Commercialization Learning Team that is a trusted and valued partner with Sales, Marketing, Medical, Legal, Regulatory and WWCL teams.
  • Create, communicate, and execute a unified Team Vision, Objectives and Standards of Behavior
  • Ensure delivery of well thought out and commercially aligned US Cardiovascular Strategic Learning Plans for all prioritized brands and launch assets ensuring they are updated routinely according to evolving business needs
  • Oversee the design and delivery of learning programs leveraging innovative technology focused on Sales Force onboarding, capability building, knowledge sharing, and creating a sustainable learning ecosystem
  • Assess and analyze the effectiveness of assigned training programs and initiatives utilizing Kirkpatrick Model
  • Develop and retain a high performing team of Learning Managers while building and maintaining a strong and diverse talent bench for future staffing needs
  • Elevate team culture fostering connectivity, empowerment, diverse and inclusive learning and behaviors, and consistent talent development unique to the individual
  • Effectively navigate the matrix to develop and maintain strong relationships with other functional areas to drive alignment, consistency where appropriate, best practice sharing, and flawless implementation of all training activities
  • Streamline and align training delivery across brands to ensure consistent quality experience for learners
  • Ensure comprehensive product and business acumen expertise is maintained among training team
  • Synthesize and share input from all key stakeholders to identify and analyze trends and/or changes which will influence training and development now and, in the future
  • Collaborate with other key leaders across the Enterprise to ensure learning strategies align with the Business strategies, to build on the BMS Enterprise-wide learning strategy and talent initiatives, reflects compliance requirements, elevates organizational performance, and advances the culture plan
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge, expertise and insight in adult learning trends and best practices
  • Participate and/or lead strategic initiatives across WW and USCL in conjunction with the USCL Leadership Team

  • Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
