About The Position

The Associate Enterprise Cloud Engineer will help own and evolve the Audio/Visual (AV) experience across our corporate office environments, with a primary focus on executive offices, conference rooms, convention spaces, and large‑scale meeting events. This role is hands‑on and customer‑facing, responsible for designing, installing, supporting, and continuously improving AV solutions that enable effective collaboration across the enterprise. This individual will lead AV setup and execution for high‑visibility meetings and events, including Agile Planning events, executive meetings, and large group sessions. They will partner closely with internal stakeholders such as Facilities, IT, and Cloud Engineering to ensure conference room technology is reliable, scalable, and aligned to business needs. Success in this role requires a self‑starter mindset, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to anticipate work that needs to be done and proactively execute on it. The role is based primarily in Des Moines, requires five days on‑site, and includes occasional travel to Sioux Falls and Cedar Rapids (2–3 times per year per location). After‑hours support and schedule flexibility are expected as needed to support meetings, installs, and vendor work.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or direct and applicable work experience.
  • Minimum 1 year or less experience working across IT Functions (i.e., Cloud, Systems Administration/Operations, etc.).
  • Familiarity with scripting concepts.
  • Familiarity with various virtualization technologies and cloud environments.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team for the process of defining IT Solution scope, business/system requirements, and writing/executing test cases.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate to a variety of technical audiences.
  • Effective troubleshooting/problem solving skills; breaking down issues to find the root-cause with a high attention for detail.
  • Ability to understand risk and how enterprise level changes impact an organization.
  • Proactive in nature and someone that is naturally curious, inquisitive, and willing to learn new skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands‑on experience installing and supporting AV hardware (cameras, TVs, cabling, room setups)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in live meeting environments

  • Experience with Poly Lens and Microsoft Teams Rooms

  • Exposure to basic programming or AV configuration tools (e.g., Crestron or similar platforms)

Responsibilities

  • End‑to‑end AV ownership for conference rooms, convention rooms, and shared collaboration spaces
  • AV design decisions (room layouts, TV sizing, camera selection, and overall setup strategy)
  • Installation and support of TVs, cameras, cabling, and related hardware (including Poly Cameras)
  • On‑site meeting and event support, including setup and live troubleshooting
  • AV readiness for Agile Planning and other large‑scale meetings
  • Vendor coordination and oversight for cabling and physical installs
  • Driving forward AV strategy, including conference room overhauls and other major initiatives
  • Participate in initial troubleshooting and issue resolution for multiple applications/systems. Will work with Cloud Engineers, Developers, Security, and other appropriate stakeholders as part of issue resolution.
  • Utilize existing patterns to build, test and install services and platforms to support overall stability in compliance with technology standards; work with others to perform maintenance and upgrades as directed.
  • Perform system support and maintenance including on-call as needed. Will work under established technology policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Partner with others to ensure systems availability and performance. Inform leadership and/or Engineering peers of systems health and participate in the creation of incidents for remediation.
  • Partner with others to ensure adequate system capacity to support business functions. Review and analyze patterns within systems and share with Engineering peers any changes they would recommend.
  • May assist in the coordination of existing documented work for Wellmark’s offshore cloud support team, if applicable.
  • Participate in team documentation (e.g., process, run-books, diagrams etc.) is kept up to date and accurate. Participate in peer reviews part of standard quality assurance practice.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, licensing, governance, and contractual requirements by helping to establish and monitor effective processes and procedures. Stay up to date with technology policies and procedures, including updates for non-enterprise level systems, team processes and diagrams.
