Job Summary The Facilities Assistant supports the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of the company’s facilities, ensuring a clean, compliant, and efficient working environment. In a medical device environment, this role supports regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO standards, FDA requirements), assists with preventative maintenance, and ensures controlled environments are properly maintained. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist in routine inspections of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, cleanrooms). Support preventative maintenance programs and maintain maintenance logs. Coordinate minor repairs and liaise with external contractors and service providers. Monitor facility equipment and report issues promptly. Support environmental monitoring activities (temperature, humidity, pressure differentials). Ensure compliance with cleanroom protocols and gowning procedures. Assist in maintaining documentation related to ISO and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 13485). Performs other duties assigned as needed. Support facility compliance with regulatory standards such as FDA, OSHA, and ISO requirements. Assist with internal audits and facility inspections. Maintain safety equipment (fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, emergency lighting). Ensure proper waste disposal, including biohazard and hazardous materials. Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders. Follow SOPs as directed. Assist in tracking service contracts and vendor documentation. Assist with office moves, workstation setups, and furniture assembly. Monitor inventory of facility supplies and reorder as needed. Provide general facilities with support to production, warehouse, and office staff . SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The position does not have supervisor responsibilities. COMPENTENCIES : To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Familiarity with ISO 13485 and GMP environments is a plus. Strong documentation and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and SOPs. Good communication and teamwork skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to work independently Ability to manage tight timelines and changing priorities Excellent problem -solving techniques Qualifications COMPENTENCIES : To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Ability to work independently Ability to manage tight timelines and changing priorities Excellent problem -solving techniques PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders as required. May require occasional after-hours or weekend work. WORK ENVIORNMENT: Combination of office, warehouse, production, and cleanroom environments. Use of PPE as required. TRAVEL : There is no travel requirement for this position. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred. 1–3 years of facilities, maintenance, or building operations experience. Experience in a regulated environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech) preferred.
