Address: Texas The Associate General Counsel provides legal advice and guidance of a broad, complex network of federal, state, and local laws that impact the Company’s operations. The Associate General Counsel partners closely with departments within the Company to outline legal requirements and provide risk analysis on activities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience practicing law, experience in financial services matters
  • J.D. required

  • Texas admission preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs legal research and analysis, interprets laws, identifies business solutions and recommends related courses of action, with emphasis on financial services
  • Advises business clients as to legal risk of current and new business initiatives
  • Assists the Company in product enhancement and development and digital initiatives
  • Reviews Company communications, privacy practices, and marketing materials for compliance with law
  • Acts as liaison to the Compliance Department and applicable federal and state regulatory agencies, including assistance as needed with responding to regulatory examination findings
  • Engages and manages outside counsel resources
  • Reviews and negotiates contractual arrangements
  • Performs additional duties as needed to support the operations and expansion of the Company
