Position Overview: We are currently seeking a high-performing investment professional to join our Hybrid Credit team in a highly visible, high-impact role associate role within Apollo’s global platform. Hybrid Credit is Apollo’s flagship public markets investment platform with a highly unconstrained and flexible investment mandate. The team invests across the capital structure in both public and private markets, with a focus on event-driven and special situations, including stressed and distressed credit and equity. The group is backed by funds totaling more than $50 billion of assets under management including Apollo’s multi-billion dollar hedge fund and a variety of private equity style drawdown funds, separately managed accounts, and quasi-permanent pools of capital. This role provides a unique opportunity to build cross-asset investing expertise and drive differentiated outcomes in close collaboration across Apollo’s broader Credit and Equity platforms.

Requirements

  • The strongest candidates will have 2-4 years of experience in Restructuring, Special Situations Investing, Private Equity, or other public markets investment roles)
  • Strong interest in credit investing
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and Excel-based valuation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Nimble and flexible to balance multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with legal documentation (e.g., credit agreements, indentures) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Investment Analysis & Execution Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation analyses across a range of complex capital structures. Support all aspects of the investment process including deal screening, underwriting, due diligence, and investment committee materials. Analyze company fundamentals, business models, capital structures, and recovery scenarios across a wide range of public and private investment opportunities, including but not limited to: opportunistic distressed, stressed, and special situation credit opportunities. Close collaboration with business groups across Apollo (e.g., Private Equity, Infrastructure, Hybrid Equity, etc..) and ability to partner on unique opportunistic investment opportunities
  • Market Research & Portfolio Monitoring Track industry trends, macroeconomic indicators, and sector-specific catalysts to surface thematic and idiosyncratic opportunities Monitor portfolio investments, evaluate performance against underwriting expectations, and proactively assess evolving credit risks
  • Deal Structuring & Legal Documentation Collaborate with internal and external legal counsel to evaluate, structure, and negotiate transaction documents including credit agreements and bond indentures.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination & Relationship Building Partner with internal teams (legal, risk, operations) to support seamless deal execution and portfolio management. Over time, cultivate relationships with investment banks, financial advisors, consultants, and other market participants to support sourcing and intelligence gathering.
