About The Position

The Information Technology department at Cleveland-Cliffs currently has an opportunity in Applications Development in the locations of Cleveland, Ohio, or West Chester, Ohio. Investigate, interpret, and analyze data to support decision‑making and problem‑solving. Contribute to major business transformation initiatives by supporting process improvements and new system implementations. Work with a broad range of technologies, tools, and platforms across both modern and legacy environments. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including operations, engineering, and IT—to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions. Troubleshoot application issues and assist in identifying root causes and long‑term fixes. Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development standards and practices. Support integrations between applications, databases, and enterprise systems. Document technical processes, solutions, and support procedures to ensure long‑term maintainability. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate degree in an Information Technology–related field, or equivalent coursework that demonstrates a strong technical foundation.
  • Clear, confident verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Classroom or hands on experience with Angular, .NET, or C#.
  • Enthusiasm for working with a mix of both established and emerging technologies.
  • Willingness to learn and support existing systems.
  • Must be willing to work on-site, 5 days a week.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology–related discipline.
  • Exposure to or experience with COBOL, JCL, or other mainframe technologies—classroom, project‑based, or hands‑on.
  • 2–3 years of experience in an IT environment through internships, co‑ops, or previous employment, demonstrating practical application of technical skills.
  • Familiarity with software development practices such as Agile, version control (Git), or CI/CD concepts.
  • Experience working with databases or basic understanding of data structures.
  • Interest in manufacturing, industrial technology, or systems integration.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in team settings and contribute to group problem‑solving.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and a passion for continuous learning, especially in enterprise‑scale environments.
