About The Position

This job learns how to assist with the IT security of the Company and its affiliates by learning the process of investigating security alerts, responding to security incidents, and handling other security responsibilities. The person in this job is also expected to learn how to cultivate an environment of IT security compliance by enforcing corporate policies and facilitating corporate compliance with external regulatory requirements, technical standards, and best business practices in an effort to uphold confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our infrastructure. Work is performed under close supervision.

Requirements

  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information security, information security and assurance, information systems, information technology, computer science, computer engineering, a related field, or the equivalent experience is required.
  • Exhibit good initiative and motivation.
  • Ability to learn the basic knowledge of current cybersecurity threats and their relevancy to the Company and its affiliates and effectively share this knowledge with other team members.
  • Ability to learn and effectively use tools and techniques required by the job.
  • Ability to work with details, analyze information, logically solve problems, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to document concepts and skills learned for later reference.
  • Ability to actively participate in meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide status updates to leadership or other team members.
  • Learn how to comprehend, write, and maintain department procedures and documentation.
  • Learn how to and then handle security incidents, which may include gathering evidence and documenting incidents in accordance with department procedures.
  • Learn when to escalate incidents and alerts to vendors, team members, leadership, or other internal teams.
  • Learn to work with leadership and project management to prioritize tasks as they arrive.
  • Learn how to and then provide operational support for at least one security product/application.
  • Maintain punctual attendance according to an assigned work schedule at a Company approved work location
  • Assist with other duties as assigned within the department or elsewhere upon request.
  • Learn how to and then assist in the remediation of the Company's and its affiliates’ cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
