About The Position

Description Overview The Dosimetry Lab Technician supports the production and analysis of accredited laboratory results by operating specialized machinery and performing light manufacturing tasks within a controlled laboratory environment. This role is essential to ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality of radiation dose measurements and laboratory outputs. A successful technician demonstrates strong attention to detail, aptitude for problem‑solving, and a commitment to following standardized work practices.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Comfort working independently and operating PC‑based workstations and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to maintain focus and accuracy during repetitive or high‑volume inspection tasks.
  • Basic math and statistical competency to interpret and convert data results.
  • No prior dosimetry or laboratory experience required; full on‑the-job training provided.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in quality control, manufacturing, inspection, laboratory work, radiology, or other regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with SOP‑driven production environments or ISO‑accredited laboratory settings.
  • Experience with automated machinery, digital imaging software, or data-driven inspection processes.

Responsibilities

  • Operate laboratory machinery and equipment that analyze radiation‑detecting dosimeters and related products.
  • Review and validate machine‑generated analytical data to ensure accuracy and adherence to laboratory standards.
  • Perform routine machine operations, calibrations, quality control checks, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate digital and physical records, including logs, calibration documents, and analysis outputs.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and correct anomalies in laboratory processing; escalate issues when necessary.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and quality requirements for accredited laboratory operations.
  • Perform continuous visual or digital inspections using specialized software or imaging systems (as applicable to equipment).
  • Conduct work center housekeeping, equipment clean‑outs, and other tasks to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Collaborate with data review or quality teams regarding analysis findings or discrepancies.
  • Work overtime based on business cycle requirements.
