Job Overview The Associate, Logistics works to support the overall Logistics Department. This individual should be highly organized and possess stellar written and verbal communication skills. Must have a high regard for customer satisfaction, be a team player, and can think quickly on their feet.

Requirements

  • Must be resourceful, organized, and able to provide exceptional customer service
  • Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and SAP
  • Must possess positive, effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Must possess emotional intelligence with outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with DOT compliance and best practices

  • Experience within shipper portals - FedEx, UPS, etc

Responsibilities

  • Answer customer inquiries, with customer service as a top priority through all interactions
  • Documentation & Compliance: Prepare, review, and maintain accurate shipping documents (bills of lading, customs paperwork)
  • Develop a general understanding of customer specifics including site needs and pricing
  • Schedule/monitor shipments, costs, timelines and productivity keeping in mind customer specifics
  • Communication & Service: Serve as the point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams regarding shipment status, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Address and resolve shipments problems or delays with the transporters and / or the customers
  • Collaborate with operations internally and externally with customers, suppliers and 3rd party partners to ensure logistics standards are met.
  • Accurately and efficiently provide shipping quotes to the sales / operations teams
  • Comfortability with equipment management including preventative maintenance and repair
  • Help to build full, efficient routes by reaching out to existing customers to see if they have any materials to be picked up
  • Recommend process improvements for area of responsibility
  • Report compliance matters to appropriate manager
