The Associate Marketing Specialist performs routine assignments in an entry-level role to support the Marketing function at McDermott. The position requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within the Marketing discipline.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute social media strategies based on best practices, competitive insights and audience behavior.
Align social media efforts with broader marketing goals and brand strategy.
Manage content calendars across platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Facebook).
Create engaging content (copy and visuals) that drives conversation and action among target audiences.
Oversee content approvals and ensure compliance with internal processes.
Engage with and moderate user-generated content in alignment with policies and processes.
Monitor trends and industry news to inform strategy.
Analyze performance metrics and recommend action based on insights.
Recommend new marketing channels and tactics, as appropriate.
Support website content strategy and routine maintenance, as needed.
Write compelling content for digital and traditional marketing channels.
Contribute to campaign development.
Manage creative projects and marketing asset production.
Support global conferences, tradeshows and employee events, as needed.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across business lines, functions and geographies to align marketing efforts with business priorities.
Operate effectively under tight deadlines.
Remain informed on company priorities and adapt strategies accordingly.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or related field.
1-5 years of experience in B2B marketing or communications.
Strong working knowledge of social media channels, best practices, strategies, etc.
Excellent copywriting and editing skills.
Strong business and technical acumen.
Proficiency in project management tools.
Experience with social media tools (e.g. Sprout Social).
Understanding of social media KPIs and how to drive action from insight.
