You will work cross-functionally to support packaging projects with Operations, Marketing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, and Product Development.

Requirements

  • 4 year Bachelor's Degree in Packaging, Science/Engineering and 2 or more years of work experience in packaging engineering
  • Proficiency in MS office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • MS Project (project management software) or similar
  • Knowledge of Statistics, Lean six Sigma and/or data analysis
  • Proficient in unit load software - Cape Pack, Tops
  • Materials knowledge in flexible films, rigid plastics, corrugated, and decorating technologies

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate foundational packaging development capabilities, including building and testing unit loads, determining primary package sizing, executing package performance testing, leading plant trials, selecting appropriate test methods, and interpreting results.
  • Represent the packaging function in cross‑functional team discussions to ensure alignment on project goals and technical requirements.
  • Learn and apply the Formula Management System to create, update, and maintain accurate packaging specifications.
  • Understand the interaction between packaging, product, and manufacturing processes to support robust design and operational efficiency.
  • Build strong partnerships with suppliers to identify opportunities for material, design, and equipment improvements.
  • Troubleshoot issues during line trials and package testing for projects of low to moderate complexity, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Analyze and interpret data to guide decision‑making and support continuous improvement initiatives.
