You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed. The Secondary Portfolio Associate will be a key member of the Secondary Portfolio Operations team, supporting the Secondary Investment group in both capital raising and investment activities. This role offers broad exposure across marketing and fundraising support, portfolio analysis and reporting, investment book management, and the overall investment process. The Associate will also collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including Accounting, Marketing, and Investor Relations, to ensure smooth and effective business operations for the Secondary platform. Please note that this role is not focused on evaluating and executing Secondary investments.

Requirements

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and competing requests
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with keen attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proven understanding of private equity terminology and performance metrics
  • 2-5 Years of relevant experience

  • CPA designation is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of investment book of record, cash activity, valuation, and reconciliation to third party administrators
  • Ensure data integrity by supervising position-level accuracy and completeness
  • Participation in weekly Secondary Investments team meetings
  • Perform portfolio and strategy-level analyses to support management decisions, client requests, and internal reporting
  • Maintenance of Secondary track record and other metrics to support analysis, fundraising, and client updates
  • Prepare and maintain all monitoring materials for Secondary programs including funds, separate accounts, and individual deals
  • Liaise with across multiple HarbourVest teams to support ongoing monitoring, marketing, and reporting for Secondary funds as required
