As an Associate Product Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the direction of our product portfolio. You will manage product roadmaps, oversee the full lifecycle from concept through development and obsolescence, and become a subject-matter expert on market conditions, competition, and customer needs. This role combines business and technical acumen, strategic thinking, and day-to-day decision-making. You’ll work cross-functionally across Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Procurement, Quality, and Manufacturing to bring innovative, profitable products to market and ensure customers love what we deliver.

  • Manage the entire product lifecycle—from conceptualization to obsolescence—including SKU management, forecasting, cost reduction, quality improvements, and aftermarket needs.
  • Develop and execute a 5-year roadmap, prioritize product development, and assess ideas against market opportunities and strategic fit.
  • Translate customer needs and market problems into clear value propositions and competitive positioning.
  • Track trends, regulations, segmentation, and competitor offerings to identify opportunities and risks for Copeland.
  • Partner with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, and Support to deliver complete product and go-to-market solutions.
  • Conduct voice-of-customer research, represent Copeland in industry associations, and support research, training, and promotional initiatives.
  • Monitor product performance, manage pricing, profitability, and build business cases for investments and strategic initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Understanding of product management and technical specifications.
  • Internship, co-op, or related experience in a technical/business field.
  • Strong business communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Skilled at developing and delivering presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).
  • Master’s degree.
  • 2–5 years of product management experience.
  • Experience with marketing dynamics in technical manufacturing.
  • Prior responsibility for product lines and P&L ownership.
  • Knowledge of HVAC/R markets, products, customers, and competitors (especially electronics and controls).
