About The Position

Resurrection Medical Center, a proud member of the Prime Healthcare system, is seeking a dedicated Associate Program Director (APD) for its Internal Medicine Residency Program. This is a 0.25 FTE academic leadership role ideal for an experienced physician educator looking to contribute meaningfully to graduate medical education while maintaining flexibility. With oversight and direction from the Program Director(s), the Assistant Program Director is responsible for the operational functions of the accredited GME training programs. The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of the national accreditation policies and hospital policies, as well as a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. The Assistant Program Director should be organized in planning, assisting with maintaining continuing accreditation, recruiting of trainees, projects, analyzing and maintaining databases, communicating with faculty and trainees regarding a range of issues and managing internal and external program relations. Should have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and GME databases. Assistant Program Director will work in the residency clinic and have administrative duties as well

Requirements

  • MD degree
  • Current board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
  • Current medical licensure in the state of IL
  • A minimum of three years' experience as core faculty member in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program
  • Previous significant GME experience such as associate program director, program director or site director
  • An entrepreneurial spirit to engage collaborators within and outside the university and to attract highly qualified and committed trainees and faculty
  • Knowledge and experience in teaching and working in an underserved or marginalized community
