We have a great opportunity on our team for an Associate Program Evaluation Analyst at our National Center in Dallas, Texas. The Associate Program Evaluation Analyst is responsible for executing implementation and outcomes evaluation activities performed by the American Heart Association’s Data Science and Evaluation team. Collaborates on the development and implementation of program evaluation activities for the American Heart Association’s programs and initiatives aimed at the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and promotion of ideal cardiovascular health. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of relevant work experience
  • One (1) years of experience creating and implementing data collection instruments for both quantitative (surveys/questionnaires) and qualitative (interview/focus group guides) approaches
  • One (1) years of experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative data analyses
  • Ability to understand scientific communication (journals, briefings, reports, statistics, etc.) and to synthesize scientific/evaluation findings into reports or communications for both lay, business, and scientific audiences
  • Knowledge of public, community and population health
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders, including representatives of priority populations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products for project management purposes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and perform well during times of increased work load
  • Interest in lifelong learning and opportunities for professional development and growth

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Degree in Public Health (MPH/MSPH), Public Policy (MPP), or related field
  • Proficient in software used for data collection and statistical analysis (e.g. Qualtrics, R, Excel) and qualitative analysis (e.g., NVivo, Dedoose)
  • One (1) years of experience designing and implementing evaluations for health-related programs focused on cardiovascular diseases or cardiovascular disease risk factors
  • Ability to creatively consider alternative solutions to tasks

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements program evaluation activities for the Data Science and Evaluation team for programs across the portfolio of American Heart Association programs and initiatives.
  • Drafts reports and presentations detailing evaluation background, critical evaluation questions, evaluation methods, findings, and recommendations.
  • Develops and implements surveys (paper and online), interviews and focus groups, and ensures quality control of data collection.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of data collection plans (using quantitative and qualitative methods) that secure buy-in from all key stakeholders (including the program implementer) and which optimize information-flow through the program life-cycle (planning, implementation, and evaluation).
  • Drafts reports and presentations detailing evaluation background, critical evaluation questions, evaluation methods, findings, and recommendations.
  • Conducts literature reviews, participates in the production of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications and presentations; provides input for presentations at scientific conferences and meetings.
  • Works as a collaborative member of the Data Science and Evaluation team.
