About The Position

GLOBAL OPS is seeking a highly organized and motivated Associate Project Manager to support and oversee physical and technological security projects for various organizations. This role combines fieldwork and office-based project management responsibilities. The Associate Project Manager will coordinate vendors, conduct site walkthroughs, manage timelines and budgets, assist with grant-related documentation, and communicate directly with clients and stakeholders. This position reports to a Senior Project Manager, who will provide training and oversight. Prior security or grant experience is not required. Construction or facilities-related project experience is a plus.

Requirements

  • 1 - 2 years of project management experience preferred
  • Must own or lease a motor vehicle (car only; no two- or three-wheel vehicles, ATVs, or UTVs)
  • Must have regular access to the vehicle for site visits
  • Ability to travel locally for fieldwork (approximately three days per week)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently in the field
  • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (or Google Suite equivalent)
  • Ability to review technical specifications and vendor proposals

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with contractors, facilities, construction, or site operations is a plus
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) is a plus (training provided)
  • Experience with project management tools is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site walkthroughs with vendors to review security upgrades such as: Main entrance renovations Door and window reinforcements Camera installations Access control systems
  • Take site photos and document project progress
  • Ensure vendors understand specifications and timelines
  • Develop and prioritize physical and technological security enhancements
  • Review and refine vendor proposals and system designs
  • Assist in designing security policies, programs, and procedures
  • Conduct site assessments to identify physical security vulnerabilities
  • Evaluate staff safety and compliance with applicable standards
  • Recommend practical and cost-effective improvements
  • Develop project plans including scope, schedules, funding sources, and staffing
  • Track milestones and deliverables
  • Adjust timelines or plans when necessary to maintain progress
  • Monitor project costs and vendor invoices
  • Ensure projects remain within approved budgets
  • Oversee execution by third-party contractors to ensure timely completion
  • Provide regular status updates to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with vendors
  • Draft detailed emails, reports, and presentations
  • Support drafting and submission of state and federal security grants (including NYS and FEMA)
  • Maintain organized project documentation
  • Assist with documentation related to legal or compliance matters
