About The Position

The Risk Management Associate will perform skilled work in the areas of Risk Management and provide clerical support for the department. The successful incumbent will be self-sufficient, professional, and possess a basic understanding of Risk Management functions, including but not limited to insurance requirements, claims, and safety. Will manage employee training system, Vector Solutions/Safe Schools.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance & Risk Management, Business Administration or other related field; OR equivalent combination of related education/experience totaling four (4) years. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).

Responsibilities

  • Monitors theft/vandalism/property damage (loss) reports and assists with ordering replacements as directed.
  • Reviews Certificates of Insurance (COI) to ensure that the insurance requirements outlined in vendor contracts are met and adequate. Communicates with senior staff to recommend changes.
  • Assists with monitoring Vector Solutions/Safe Schools training completion and troubleshooting data concerns.
  • Enters requisitions and tracks contracts for Risk Management’s vendors in Contract Advantage and is responsible for ordering supplies as needed for the department.
  • Tracks Risk Management absences to prepare and submit payroll to Chief General Counsel for approval.
  • Compiles facts and data regarding accidents, losses, environmental testing, and AED inventory to generate detailed & aggregate reports and create presentations.
  • Provides support to Risk Manager, takes meeting minutes, creates folders for insurance policies; opens mail and assigns as appropriate.
  • Works with District web master to keep the information on Risk Management’s website up to date. Updates existing training manuals for online reporting systems as needed.
  • Stays abreast of industry best practices, changes in governing regulations and/or laws and provides leadership recommendations regarding internal processes and policies to ensure continued compliance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
