About The Position

CodeMettle is currently recruiting Co-Op/Interns to join us for the Summer 2026 and Fall 2026 semesters! Please indicate in your application which semester you are available and interested in being considered for. Summer 2026 Semester Dates: Tuesday, May 12th - Friday, July 31st Fall 2026 Semester Dates: Tuesday, August 11th - Friday, December 11th Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid – fully remote candidates will not be considered) Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (2 days in-office each week) Pay Rate: $25/hour Candidates not currently enrolled in school, or candidates graduating this semester, will not be considered. Due to the nature of our work, U.S. citizenship is REQUIRED to access CodeMettle company systems. CodeMettle provides custom software development and integration services for companies in the broadcast, telecommunications and government defense markets. Our software enables their operations centers to monitor and control all the necessary equipment used in broadcasting video and ensuring that advising operators that their services are intact, and downtime is minimized. CodeMettle provides an excellent learning experience for co-ops as they are mentored by software engineers and share many of their tasks. What is a "Co-Op"? Cooperative education is a structured method of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. A "Co-Op" provides academic credit for structured full-time job experience. To be eligible for a Co-Op position with CodeMettle, candidates must be currently enrolled in school and be able to commit to up to 3 semesters of full-time work with us. You will work with us full-time for the entirety of your semester. Semesters worked do not need to be consecutive. If you will not be seeking academic credit for your semester with us, your internal title will still be “Co-Op”, but your experience will be categorized as a traditional internship. Candidates not currently enrolled in school will not be considered. As an Associate Software Engineer Coop / Intern, you will work as an active participant on one of our engineering teams to support the development, implementation, and maintenance of various software products and systems for customers and internal stakeholders. You will be responsible for performing in a number of roles, including, but not limited to:

Requirements

  • General computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, OO design (Required)
  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, C#)
  • Able to function well in a collaborative, team environment or independently
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
  • Able to manage time effectively and prioritize to meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with React, Typescript, Node is a plus
  • Familiarity with browser APIs and a foundational understanding of the HTTP protocol is a plus
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP networking is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assisting software engineers with requirements gathering, designing, developing, installing, testing, and de-bugging of CodeMettle software
  • Creating automation and scripts needed to communicate with various equipment types in broadcast, network and satellite industries
  • Assisting software engineers with design and execution stress tests on a web architecture
  • Assisting engineers with evaluation of new web-based technologies, including AI and machine learning
  • Interfacing with customers to gather requirements and implement automation
  • Assists software engineers with predefined development tasks
  • Developing an understanding of software systems
