We are looking for innovative support engineers with a passion for finding meaningful patterns and performing in-depth analysis of our software product, databases, and processes. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical problem solver with excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills, along with strong Java and SQL expertise and a desire to translate insights into meaningful solutions. You will play a key role in supporting our mission to optimize diagnostic healthcare costs and outcomes through data, analysis, and optimized processes. This position will be located at our offices in San Diego.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science or other technical degree
  • 1–2 years of experience as a software engineer in a support environment or college-level coursework and projects using Java and SQL
  • Proficiency in Java and SQL
  • Familiarity with revision control applications, preferably JIRA and Bitbucket
  • Demonstrated analysis, debugging, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams of software engineers, domain experts, and others to improve product functionality and customer outcomes.
  • Monitor and resolve support cases, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate corrective action.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and recommend both short-term and long-term corrective and preventive actions.
  • Write database scripts to investigate and resolve customer-reported data issues.
  • Partner with engineering to improve quality, efficiency, testability, and maintainability of the code base.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in implementing enhancements that strengthen product reliability and operational efficiency.
