About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an Associate Tool and Fixture Specialist to join the Space Launch Systems Manufacturing team in New Orleans, LA! Position Responsibilities: Repairs and maintains equipment and demonstrates experience in these areas Performs preventative maintenance plans Performs complex troubleshooting, analysis, inspection, disassembly, rebuild, and modification of tooling as necessary using knowledge in areas such as mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics Works with electrical systems and electronic components of complex industrial machinery and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications as required Responds to and provides guidance related to routine and complex requests for equipment repair Maintains and manages component and replacement part inventories Follows safety procedures and regulations May provide guidance to less experienced employees Works under Minimal supervision

Requirements

  • 1+ years' experience in maintaining design tools, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years' experience in the use of hand tools, and fabrication equipment
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Ability to perform maintenance or repair machinery
  • Experience in maintenance or repair of industrial equipment
  • Ability to maintain a periodic maintenance program in a production environment
  • Basic computer skills- including but not limited to Microsoft Office Applications
