About The Position

Belton Animal Clinic & Exotic Care Center is hiring a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join a busy, well-established general practice with a highly unique exotics caseload and a clearly defined path to future Medical Director leadership and hospital partnership. This is a rare opportunity to work alongside a nationally recognized, board-certified exotics specialist while providing high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care to a caseload consisting of approximately 80% canine and feline patients and 20% exotics, including amphibians, ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, reptiles, and other small mammal exotics. We are seeking a veterinarian who is interested not only in practicing excellent medicine, but also in growing into long-term leadership and ownership of the hospital. What to Expect A schedule that respects your time. We offer a full-time 4-day work week. Hospital hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, and Saturday, 8:00 AM–1:00 PM. The last appointment of the day is scheduled at 5:30 PM. There are no on-call responsibilities, and the hospital is closed on Sundays and major holidays. We are open to flexibility with the 4th workday, though the current scheduling priority for the hospital includes Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday. A 2-to-1 staff to doctor ratio. You will have the support—and respect—you need to be excellent for our patients. You will be joining a 1-doctor practice supported by a dedicated team of technicians, assistants, and client service representatives who work closely with the doctors to support patient care, case flow, and daily operations. All the benefits you deserve—health, dental, vision, retirement—plus: Continuing Education (CE) allowance, uniform allowance, pet discounts, relocation assistance, Plumb’s/VIN membership, plus we will cover your dues, license fees, and AVMA-PLIT. We also offer a clearly defined and supported path to Medical Director leadership and hospital partnership for a veterinarian interested in long-term growth, influence, and ownership. Paid time off. Catch your breath with paid holidays, 15 days of PTO per year, and paid CE days every year. Partnership opportunities through Veterinary Practice Partners (VPP), where more than 260 partners co-own practices across 185 locations. VPP offers unmatched support in operations, marketing, and finance, allowing you to focus on your passion for veterinary medicine.
