About The Position

Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an experienced Associate to join the General and Professional Liability practice group. The individual will be responsible for handling a wide range of general and professional liability, defense litigation matters in Pennsylvania and New Jersey state and federal courts.

Requirements

3+ years of experience, preferably in defense litigation.
J.D. from an accredited law school.
PA and NJ active bar licenses, required.
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to travel mostly in PA and NJ for court or as necessary.
Flexibility to work a hybrid schedule from PA or NJ, with the ability to occasionally travel to our Philadelphia or NJ offices as needed (i.e. trial preparation, deposition, client meeting, etc.).
Experience drafting pleadings, answering written discovery, taking depositions, working with experts and conducting arbitrations/trials.
Demonstrated interest in liability defense with a strong preference for those with prior experience in liability defense such as premises liability

Nice To Haves

Experience with professional liability defense cases and/or medical malpractice is preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze complex legal and factual issues and prepare well-reasoned legal recommendations to the client.
Draft pleadings, answer written discovery, take depositions, work with experts, and conduct arbitrations and/or trials.
Communicate with clients, the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel while adhering to all deadlines.
Some local travel for trials, court conferences etc. typically local to NJ and PA.
