Requirements

  • Demonstrated results in managing specialty retail business environment.
  • Working knowledge of the General Retail Industry Award
  • Proven ability to meet payroll goals
  • Proven ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
  • Proven ability to think through complex issues and allocate time to execute multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Effective communication, organisation and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to motivate and influence others through personal actions and examples
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor, including standing for long periods.
  • Able to work within confined spaces such as back of house areas and stock rooms.
  • Able to climb ladders and use other equipment in line with safety standards.
  • Availability to work a minimum of two Saturdays and two Sundays in each four week period, annual inventory and entire peak holiday season (November and December).
  • Ability to lift and mobilise medium to large items, up to 45 kg, while utilising appropriate equipment and safety techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales per hour and productivity metrics
  • Drive Design Services sales by motivating Design Associates to achieve sales targets
  • Manage and deliver to required email capture metrics
  • Deliver and exceed conversion targets, including motivating and coaching associates to achieve results
  • Ensure sell through on tasting products (Williams-Sonoma only)
  • Daily, weekly, monthly business analysis of departments and work to improve department selling through setting targets and coaching the team
  • Visual floor-set planning and execution
  • Execution of all visual updates and communications
  • Execute store standards, maintenance and recovery to company expectations daily
  • Ensure that SKU’s are represented on the sales floor
  • All supporting signage and marketing for any company promotions are executed on time
  • Execute social media requirements as required
  • Support in store events and PR events
  • Daily, weekly, monthly business analysis of departments and work to improve department selling through visual execution
  • In partnership with the Associate Manager Operations
  • ensure that all repairs and maintenance issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • supplies are ordered and store expenses managed within budget
  • FEFO Management (Williams-Sonoma only)
  • Engage, support and participate in store events, including using initiative to create meaningful events for customers
  • Support and drive company promotions, sale and PR events in store to ensure associate engagement and customer participation
  • Ensure Design Associates are providing quality estimates and meeting KPIs
  • Manage Customer Satisfaction Survey results and increase overall Net Promoter Score (NPS).
  • Train others in Engage, Discover and Connect
  • Deliver WHS training initiatives, and support the Associate Manager Operations to ensure training delivery compliance
  • Train and develop associates in visual standards, selling essentials and design services
  • Initiates a self-development plan to ensure continual professional development
  • Support with recruitment and selection of highly talented people to join store teams.
