This position supports personal care, daily living activities, and agreed-upon domestic tasks while promoting safety, independence, and comfort for each client. This position is great for experienced caregivers and those looking to gain experience in a care setting!

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred
Valid Driver’s License
No experience necessary; training will be provided
Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire)
Commitment to customer service and teamwork
Ability to understand and identify with the Mission Statement and philosophy of Garden Spot Village At Home
Treat clients, family members, and peers with dignity and respect
Maintain a cheerful and positive attitude
May include weekends, evenings, and holidays

Responsibilities

Comply with established policies, procedures, and standards, including the Compliance Program/Code of Conduct
Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times
Maintain a positive attitude and uphold standards of good caregiving practice
Assist clients in a manner conducive to their safety, comfort, and independence
Report any unusual observations or conditions to the Coordinator of GSV At Home or Assistant Coordinator/Scheduler
Practice safety for self and clients and report any unsafe conditions
Follow the established care plan for each assigned client
Assist, as contracted, with clients’ personal possessions, home environment, meal preparation and feeding, appointment scheduling and reminders, and other services listed in the care plan
Provide personal care as contracted, including assistance with bathing, continence care, oral hygiene, hair grooming, dressing, shaving, and nail care
Demonstrate dependability and punctuality by coming to work as scheduled
Attend all in-services and training sessions relevant to the position
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Answer the telephone and assist clients with calls
