  • Atlassian Cloud Organization Admin certification (or equivalent org/site administration experience).
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Jira webhooks and webhook-based integrations (UI-based administration and/or API-based patterns).
  • Familiarity with Marketplace app evaluation/administration and partnering with site/org admins on app lifecycle and governance.
  • Experience supporting multiple teams with differing workflows (engineering, product, operations, support, etc.) while enforcing consistent platform standards.
  • Advanced integration / automation depth

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day administration of Jira and Confluence
  • Configure and maintain Jira global settings and shared configurations (work types/issue types, workflows schemes, fields, and permission schemes).
  • Administer Confluence global settings and space-level configuration, including permissions, structure, and governance.
  • Manage user access patterns using groups and role-based access controls (RBAC): add/remove users from groups, maintain default groups, and keep permissions aligned to least-privilege standards.
  • Partner with organizational/site administrators as needed to align admin roles and responsibilities (org admin vs site admin vs app admin vs user access admin).
  • Maintain Jira group permissions and project permission models, including permission schemes and role-based permission approaches.
  • Administer Confluence global permissions and space permissions; help recover or remediate misconfigured space access when needed.
  • Drive Jira usage hygiene across teams (consistent workflows, clean field usage, standardized issue types, naming conventions, and sensible configuration sprawl control).
  • Create and enforce reusable patterns (standard project templates, request intake patterns, and governance guardrails) to keep Jira scalable and easy to support.
  • Improve end-user experience through thoughtful configuration, documentation, and consistent conventions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automation rules to reduce manual work and enforce standards (e.g., auto-triage, required-field enforcement, routing, SLA/supporting rules, status transitions, and notifications).
  • Manage automation permissions and scopes (project/space vs global) and continuously monitor audit logs / rule performance to prevent noise, loops, or excessive executions.
  • Interact with Atlassian Support in a proactive manner when blocked on complex implementations.
  • Manage spaces, space templates, and page structure patterns that help teams publish and find information quickly.
  • Establish governance for space lifecycle (new space requests, archiving/cleanup, ownership, and permission reviews).
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for Jira/Confluence questions, troubleshooting, and internal support requests.
  • Provide enablement through documentation, office hours, training, and “how we use Jira/Confluence here” playbooks to drive adoption and consistency.
  • Evaluate, administer, and support add-ons/apps as needed (including coordination with internal stakeholders on risk, value, and licensing). Site admins can manage and install Marketplace apps, so you will partner closely with the appropriate admins when required.
  • Coordinate and troubleshoot integrations with internal tools (intake forms, chat tools, reporting tools, identity management, etc.) as part of improving workflows.
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining Jira webhooks (as appropriate) to enable event-driven integrations and reduce polling.
