About The Position

The Audio/Visual (AV) Specialist will provide AV and IT services, operate and maintain AV equipment, oversee production of live events, carry out post-production editing tasks, recommend innovative solutions and document-related procedures within our team of highly skilled AV Specialists at the Firm’s New York City headquarters. The AV Specialist will proactively and efficiently handle multiple complex assignments, projects, and manage shifting priorities while remaining deadline oriented.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred;
  • At least four years of AV experience with specific technical experience in the most popular video conference platforms such as Webex, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and others;
  • Experience working with audio mixers, camera controllers and video switchers for live events in auditorium-type spaces;
  • Working knowledge of Cisco equipment and back-end control systems and software – configuration settings, macros, UI editing, template creation, logging etc.);
  • Experience with Dante and QSYS DSP configuration and signal flow;
  • Experience with NDI – encoders, decoders, routing;
  • Experience with recording and webcasting live events/meetings using software like vMix, OBS, Vimeo;
  • Ability to execute multiple short-form projects within established parameters with limited oversight and approval;
  • Excellent file management and ability to organize video files and assets, with a thorough understanding of media management in a post-production environment;
  • Ability to follow documented guidelines and departmental procedures regarding delivery specifications for various platforms.
  • Proficiency in the use of AI tools;

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under time pressures;

  • Experience with post-production editing with Adobe Premiere is a plus;

Responsibilities

  • Tests, sets up, and resolves critical technical issues during: Client and internal meetings that require video or audio conferencing, digital presentations, other audio/visual components, or computer technical support;
  • Employee training sessions that involve setup and removal of ad hoc training rooms with workstations, projection or video recording/playback;
  • Evening receptions, charity events, alumni and new associate gatherings, high profile events, and annual firmwide events that utilize camera, microphones, projectors, displays, recording, webcasting, background music, and lighting;
  • On-site/remote depositions and arbitrations that require AV presentation, video archiving, or technical support for material and expert witnesses, judges, visiting attorneys, and court appointed staff;
  • Formal speeches, panel discussions, publicized interviews and other VIP speaking engagements that call for presentation services and guidance on event staging; and
  • Off-site event support that requires coordination of AV services.
  • Uses, maintains, troubleshoots, and provides basic repair for: Portable and built-in video conference equipment and portable carts;
  • Remotely controlled cameras, video and audio matrix switchers and control software;
  • Portable screens, TV’s;
  • Built-in, boundary, handheld, gooseneck, lavalier, ceiling microphones;
  • Overhead speakers, portable speakers, headphones and recorders;
  • Camcorders and audio recording devices;
  • Cable television, laser pointers, wireless clickers and universal remote controls;
  • Digital projectors, and document cameras;
  • Webex Control Hub and Cisco video conferencing infrastructure; and
  • Recording and camera tracking servers.
  • Attends to the following IT technical support responsibilities and related duties: Offers white glove IT support for conference room attendees;
  • Edits and processes CLE recordings to be published online for attorneys to access;
  • Compresses and digitizes audio and video data;
  • Loans out, sets up and maintains laptops for short-term use;
  • Supports related software, ex. PowerPoint, iManage, Outlook and Windows Media Player;
  • Sets up and breaks down ad hoc computer/laptop workstations and training areas;
  • Maintains audio/visual stock and maintains AV inventory within ServiceNow Asset Management system;
  • Verifies and enters data, runs reports in Rendezvous conference reservation system; and
  • Connects and configures Internet, including innocuous changes to computer settings, advise in reaching external VPNs, utilization of LAN hubs, and patching of additional connections in network closets as needed.
  • Designs innovative solutions via detailed documentation, training, and implementation: Manages AV related projects as assigned;
  • Creates and updates process documents;
  • Provides suggestions to management on process or configuration improvements;
  • Develops and implements procedures and offers interdepartmental training as appropriate;
  • Researches and recommends purchases to maintain and improve audiovisual services;
  • Assesses departmental needs and requests;
  • Addresses technical and process questions and evaluates progress for ongoing projects; and
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
