About The Position

The Audio/Visual Technician combines exceptional craftsmanship and work quality with superb expertise to deliver reliable installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Responsible for managing the Audio/Visual technology at the Club and running support services for events, concerts, conferences, and meetings. The position entails the management of professional-grade audio equipment and visual presentation systems such as lighting, video conferencing, PowerPoint projections, etc., and coordination with event managers to ensure that all required systems have been provided, installed, and tested.

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university, college, technical school; or a minimum of five years of audio, video and lighting experience, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Prior experience working in the audio-visual, sound and/or lighting industry is required.
  • Ability to communicate well in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Inventory software; Internet.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory of all audio and video equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is well-maintained and operable for all events.
  • Install all applicable hardware and/or software enhancements and upgrades to ensure highest quality of all systems.
  • Coordinate and setup equipment needs with event managers.
  • Set up, test, and operate systems during events and presentations.
  • Run Chamsys lighting systems.
  • Manage Club-wide Q-Sys system (integrated digital video and audio).
  • Operate and manage professional-grade sound mixing boards.
  • Perform digital video editing as needed.
  • Set up MS Teams Room video conferences as needed.
  • Work with vendors on equipment and software maintenance programs.
  • Sets-up all meetings and Club events according to the BEO ensuring that all required equipment such as computers, projectors, screens, and audio/visual items are properly placed.
  • Responsible for being present during Club events to operate equipment and to ensure that the show/presentation runs smoothly.
  • Responsible for breaking down all equipment for meetings and Club events at their completion.
  • Ability to assist with and/or resolve minor IT related issues if needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by IT/AV Director.
