The main purpose of this role is to help ensure that employers follow federal and state Unemployment Insurance (UI) tax laws and pay the correct amount. Auditors work independently in the field and interact directly with employers and their representatives. They review financial and payroll records and apply accounting principles, laws, rules, and agency guidance to understand each situation and make fair decisions.
