About The Position

Under the direction of the Insurance Manager, the Authorizations Specialist performs duties directly responsible for obtaining medical authorizations for scheduled and non-scheduled procedures to ensure appropriate reimbursement for patient procedures. Experience in ophthalmology (retina) is ideal but not required.

Responsibilities

• Managing of assigned acounts receivable to meet department goals
• Follow-up of outstanding claims
• Research denials
• Submit appeals
• Work claim correspondence
• Answer patient phone calls
• Effective communication with insurance carriers, patients and team members while resolving delinquent accounts.
