About The Position

Crown Collision Center is hiring an Auto Glass Estimator to appraise vehicle glass damage for insurance claim settlements at its busy body shop! This position requires proficient general office and administrative skills and is primarily responsible for accurate and timely posting of service labor time to repair orders. ICar certification is preferred Duties Include : Coordinating the use of Body Shop resources for the purpose of maximizing profits to the dealership through the repair of vehicles with auto glass damage. Assuring total estimate compliance. Maintaining excellent relations with insurance company representatives. Requirements

  • 1-3 years auto glass / body shop estimator experience

Nice To Haves

  • ICar certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Examines damaged vehicle to determine extent of automotive glass work needed
  • Estimates cost of labor and parts to repair or replace each damaged item.
  • Oversees every step in the repair process and ensures repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Reviews repair cost estimates with body shop manager or foreman.
  • Determines feasibility of repair versus replacement of parts, such as bumpers, fenders, and doors.
  • Evaluates practicality of repair as opposed to payment of vehicle market value before accident.
  • Prepares insurance forms to indicate repair cost estimates and recommendations.
  • Estimates cost of repainting, converting to special purposes, or customizing undamaged vehicles.
  • Attends department meetings as requested.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Comply with all policies as described in the “Crown Employee Handbook.”
  • Other duties may be assigned, based on company’s needs.
