About The Position

Eversource is looking for a talented and motivated Diesel/Automotive technician to join our Fleet team. (training period is 6 months) (permanent location determined after training period) Department: Fleet Maintenance Starting Pay Rate: $45.88/hr. Upgraded to $55.93/hr. after completion of 6-month training period. Shift differential where applicable. Schedule: Various Shifts

Requirements

CDL Driver’s and Inspectors license preferred. Must be able to obtain within six months.
High School diploma or equivalent
Must be able to obtain valid health certificate.
Must possess a working knowledge of and the ability to use a tablet or a desktop computer.
Must have the ability to diagnose problems in automotive/truck equipment and to make the necessary repairs to return the equipment to safe and operable condition.
Must be familiar with the use and safe operation of torches and gas welding equipment.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a postsecondary program in automotive service technology a plus
Experience with electronic diagnostic software and instrument systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Must be able to trouble shoot, perform inspections and make repairs on chassis, gas/diesel engines, drive trains, rear axles, steering mechanisms, hydraulic/air braking systems, suspensions, cooling systems, wheels, tires, and repair associated construction equipment.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs and preventive maintenance as assigned.
Safely handle standard garage materials, chemicals, and maintain a clean & safe work area.
Accurately document work using Chevin maintenance program
Able to work independently either in the assigned shop or at other locations within the limits of the classification.
