Summary Operates multiple machines that perform the racking of screws by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use and confidently move around computer display screens and diagnostics.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as metric ball end hex keys, drive ratchet with socket, adjustable and metric combination wrenches, tubing cutters and others
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally push/pull a cart with 6” casters that weighs up to 1800 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Responsibilities

  • Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machine.
  • Ability to verify correct part selection.
  • Ability to identify and fix malfunctions.
  • Monitors Robots; Quality inspects robot performance.
  • Ability to assess and maintain airlines.
  • Makes minor adjustments or repairs such as clearing jammed fasteners, setting guides, clearing away damaged fasteners, or replacing some parts.
  • Verifies proper piece count to rack requirements.
  • Feeds product into hopper; loads racking trays into machine; unloads racked product and loads into Kanban carts.
  • Keeps washer bowl filled.
  • Adjust assembly machine bowls for variance in parts by moving in-line guides and bowl speed and width.
  • Adjust alignment on racking belt guide when changing parts.
  • At the end of shift properly prepare machine(s) for next shift and communicate current operation status for machines(s) to next shift operator.
  • Must observe assembly machine for lubrication requirements per shift.
  • Ability to use and confidently move around computer display screens and diagnostics.
  • Follows standard work and performs daily and/or preventative maintenance per schedules.
  • Consistently follows and promotes 5s standards to ensure work area is clean and safe to work in.
