About The Position

Amentum is seeking an AutoCAD/Space Planning Specialist in Decatur, IL ! Typical work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8am-4:30pm; hours may vary based on needs of the business. Overtime on Saturdays may be required to meet critical business demand. This position is responsible for coordinating and preparing site mapping, seating, traffic flow and Emergency 911 layouts and cellular mapping using AutoCAD and Archibus. Assisting engineering staff and customers with site project design and mapping. Developing designs in accordance with requirements documents. Preparing CAD drawings and illustrations in accordance with customer format requirements and drawing standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Three years of relevant experience in one or demonstrated equivalent combination of education
  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
  • This position may require a valid Driver’s License.
  • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update 3-D and solid CAD/CAE models to assist in the development of equipment arrangement, traffic flow and office space.
  • Document and test E-911 system and associated networks and desk phones for location accuracy.
  • Update site maps and emergency posters
  • Update, as needed, Egress signage and signage location as needed for accuracy. May require procuring updated signage through Procurement support.
  • Update site parking and traffic flow maps
  • Update current office, phone and desk locations via drawings and Archibus software
  • Utilize customer Archibus software for positional and emergency location tracking
  • Work from work orders, verbal and written instructions to perform duties.
  • Consult with appropriate individuals as required.
  • May visit job sites and make preliminary layouts to check critical design problems, and/or to re-check problem areas.
  • Provide drawings that incorporate drafting manual standards and procedures, architectural standards, and other national standards as required.
  • Check complex drawings for technical accuracy, errors and completeness.
  • Conduct design review of technical documentation and drawings against performance specifications for technical compliance.
  • Reviews technical documentation and drawings against as-built equipment for technical accuracy and completeness.
  • Apply knowledge of procedures and systems to a broad range of basic issues. May require knowledge of specialized processes or technical skills.
  • Maintain files and back-up disks.
  • Run prints for the department.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
